Founded in April 2013 by Peter Jackson, Sandra Breber, and Paul Martinelli, Ziploop developed a mobile application designed to function as a digital wallet for shoppers. The company was established in Orinda, California, with a mission to declutter physical wallets by storing and organizing shopping-related documents like receipts, coupons, loyalty cards, and promotional offers in the cloud. Users could access their stored information across mobile devices, tablets, and desktops.

The platform's core service centered on digitizing the shopping experience. Users could capture images of paper receipts or forward email receipts and rewards to a dedicated Ziploop email address, and the app would automatically organize these documents into store-specific folders. A key feature was its ability to send push notifications to users before their stored coupons or rewards expired, helping them capitalize on savings. The application also introduced a "Trends" feature, which aggregated promotional offers and new arrivals from various retailers into a scrolling feed, aiming to reduce email inbox clutter for consumers. For retailers, the platform offered a channel to engage with customers and analyze shopping behavior, potentially reducing costs associated with physical mailings.

Ziploop secured $2.2 million in a single seed funding round on March 18, 2014. The round saw participation from several investors, including Foundation Capital, Canaan Partners, and JBM Ventures. On September 18, 2018, Snipp Interactive, a global provider of digital marketing promotions, contests, and loyalty solutions, acquired Ziploop for approximately $501,000. Following the acquisition, Ziploop operated as a subsidiary of Snipp. The business model focused on providing a convenient tool for consumers while offering retailers a targeted marketing and customer analytics platform.
