In 2003, long before China's animation industry became the powerhouse it is today, Guangdong Winsing Animation was founded. The company's journey began with a focus on creating original intellectual property. The major turning point came in 2005 with the creation of a character that would become a household name in China: GG Bond, an adventurous and heroic pig. This IP became the bedrock of the company, created by Zhibin "Ben" Gu, with Gu Yanmei also listed as a founder and vice president. The GG Bond series was a massive success, leading to a consistent production schedule of at least one new season and one major film annually. This prolific output, which has produced over 20,000 minutes of content, established GG Bond as a dominant domestic animation brand. Winsing's strategy wasn't just about creating content; it was about building an entire ecosystem. The company expanded into merchandising, live shows, and even indoor theme parks, turning its animated characters into a multi-faceted business. A significant event in the company's financial journey was its attempt to go public. In July 2020, Winsing Animation filed for an IPO on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange's ChiNext board. However, the company later withdrew its application in February 2021, halting its push onto the public market. Despite this, the company continues its global ambitions, partnering with international writers and distributors to bring its content, including new seasons of GG Bond, to a worldwide audience in over 60 countries.
