Transforma Alimentos

Transforma Alimentos is a Chilean public-private initiative launched in 2016, driven by Corfo and supported by the Ministry of Agriculture. Its primary mission is to foster the sustainable growth of Chile's food industry by promoting a more diverse, sophisticated, and competitive offering for global export markets. The program operates as a collaborative network, connecting private companies, public sector entities, academic institutions, and research and development centers to drive innovation and business expansion. Graciela Urrutia serves as the manager of the program.

The initiative focuses on aligning the Chilean food sector with global trends, particularly the demand for healthy, safe, and sustainable products. It works to add value to both primary and processed goods, moving beyond raw material exports to offer innovative products like new snacks, gourmet items, and functional ingredients. Transforma Alimentos facilitates this by creating long-term national strategies, developing R&D programs, improving infrastructure, and promoting international investment. A key activity is the annual publication of the "Catálogo de Innovación Alimentaria de Chile" (Chilean Food Innovation Catalog), which showcases the country's most innovative food products and services to connect them with potential clients, partners, and investors. The program also organizes free technical talks and workshops on topics like financing, food labeling regulations, and innovation to support entrepreneurs.
