The story of Shandong Linglong Tyre begins in 1975 with the Zhaoyuan Tire Manufacturing & Repairing Plant, a modest state-owned enterprise. By the mid-1980s, the factory was struggling with outdated equipment and inefficient production. In 1987, a pivotal change occurred when Wang Xicheng took leadership, reorganizing the firm into Shandong Linglong Tyre Co., Ltd. This marked the beginning of a new trajectory, shifting focus to producing passenger car tires and initiating a period of significant growth. The company's journey of expansion continued under the next generation of leadership with Wang Feng, the current Chairman. His international vision propelled Linglong onto the global stage. A key milestone in this journey was the company's initial public offering (IPO) on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, which took place on July 6, 2016. This event provided a significant capital infusion, fueling further expansion of production capacity and investment in technology. Today, Linglong Tyre has multiple manufacturing bases in China and internationally, including facilities in Thailand and Serbia, and its products are sold in 173 countries.
