PSNGR1, pronounced "Passenger One," was a New York-based software company targeting the corporate and leisure travel markets. Founded in 2017 by Chris Moss, a travel industry veteran with experience at JetBlue and British Airways, the company aimed to create a unified platform for all travel booking needs. Moss envisioned a single interface where travelers, using a universal profile, could seamlessly book and manage both business and personal trips.
The company's core offering was an AI-driven, app-based travel management platform. Its key feature was the collaborative "TripBoards," which allowed groups of colleagues, friends, or family to jointly plan, book, and manage itineraries. This tool enabled users to add flights, hotels, cars, trains, and even custom events like restaurant reservations into a single, cohesive plan. For corporate clients, PSNGR1 offered tools for travel policy management, real-time data analytics, and expense reporting, promising to reduce the standard Travel Management Company (TMC) onboarding time from weeks to minutes. The platform provided travel agencies with access to Global Distribution Systems (GDS), New Distribution Capability (NDC) content, and other travel-related activities, aiming to cut costs for agency partners.
PSNGR1's business model focused on providing a comprehensive solution for individual travelers, corporations, TMCs, and suppliers like airlines and hotels. For suppliers, the platform offered data-driven targeting to engage with travelers based on their preferences and behaviors. After an initial angel investment of $110K in 2017, the company secured a significant funding round in 2021. However, the company faced a funding shortfall and suspended operations in June 2022. Shortly after, in August 2022, its intellectual property was acquired by the U.K.-based travel technology firm Snowfall, which integrated PSNGR1's technology into a new booking tool called Junction One. Founder Chris Moss was not involved with the new entity and has since started a new travel tech venture in 2024.
