Nash Work (纳什空间), founded in 2013 by Zhang Jian, is a shared office space provider in China. The company's name is a reference to the Nash Equilibrium, a concept in game theory. Zhang, a Tsinghua University graduate with a background in civil engineering and over a decade of experience in the real-estate industry, identified a market opportunity to provide comprehensive office solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises. He experienced the challenges of finding suitable office space firsthand during his own entrepreneurial ventures.
The company offers a variety of products to meet the needs of businesses at different stages of growth. These include co-working spaces (Space), private offices (Studio and Studio+), and mobile workstations. Their business model is described as "independent + shared," providing private, independent offices complemented by shared amenities and services. This model caters to the need for privacy, which is often preferred in the Chinese business culture, while still offering the cost benefits and community aspects of co-working. Nash Work serves a diverse client base, from freelancers to small and medium-sized enterprises and even larger corporations needing satellite offices, such as the developer of the Dubai Tower, Emaar Properties. By 2018, the company had expanded to five cities, managing over 900,000 square meters of office space and serving more than 12,000 companies.
In addition to physical space, Nash Work provides a range of value-added services. These include administrative support, corporate services like business registration and accounting, and access to a network of partners through its "Entrepreneurial Office Service Alliance." The company also established services like "Nash Capital" and "Nash Governance" to support its tenants. More recently, Nash Work has ventured into office design and construction services with its "Nash Cobb" business line. However, an article from January 2025 states that the company was taken over by its investor, Ocean Capital, in 2021 and no longer has any active projects, with its founding team having moved on to other ventures.
