Initially developed in July 2004, the platform leveraged remote access and screen sharing technology from existing products like GoToMyPC. The product's journey involves several key corporate transitions. In February 2017, GoToMeeting became a product of LogMeIn following a merger with Citrix's GoTo business. Subsequently, in December 2019, LogMeIn was acquired by private equity firms Francisco Partners and Evergreen Coast Capital for $4.3 billion, a deal that closed in August 2020. In a significant rebranding effort, LogMeIn was renamed GoTo in February 2022.
