Global Bay Mobile Technologies was a software company focused on mobile retail solutions. Founded in 2002 by Sandeep Bhanote and Nimit Sabharwal, the firm was based in South Plainfield, New Jersey. The company's trajectory was marked by significant acquisitions. In November 2011, point-of-sale provider VeriFone Systems Inc. acquired Global Bay Mobile Technologies for an undisclosed amount. This acquisition was a strategic move for VeriFone to integrate Global Bay's mobile applications with its own secure payment technology, aiming to offer a comprehensive suite of mobile commerce solutions to retailers. Following the acquisition, co-founders Sandeep Bhanote and Nimit Sabharwal joined VeriFone's leadership, taking on roles as general manager and senior director of operations for the new Mobile Retail Systems business, respectively. Subsequently, in August 2014, the assets of Global Bay were acquired from VeriFone by Manhattan Associates, a supply chain commerce solutions provider. This second acquisition was intended to extend Manhattan Associates' omni-channel capabilities by adding in-store sales and clienteling solutions to their portfolio.
