In 1987, long before the dot-com boom, founder Paul Coote established Flintfox in Auckland, New Zealand. The company focused on a complex but critical business problem: helping companies in manufacturing, distribution, and retail manage their intricate pricing and revenue strategies. Flintfox developed software to handle trade promotions, set product prices, and manage rebate agreements, integrating directly with a client's existing enterprise systems. For years, Flintfox grew steadily, building a reputation for its powerful and fast pricing engine. A significant growth phase began in June 2020 when Australian private equity firm Advent Partners invested in the company, aiming to accelerate its global expansion and product development. This partnership allowed Flintfox to further enhance its software, particularly in revenue optimization and rebate management. Following this investment, John Moss was appointed CEO in February 2021 to steer the company through its next stage of growth. The company's trajectory culminated in a major strategic event in January 2025. Flintfox was acquired by Enable, a U.S.-based, venture-backed company specializing in AI-powered rebate management. This acquisition combined Flintfox's best-in-class pricing engine with Enable's rebate platform, creating a unified solution for businesses to manage both sides of their trade promotions and incentives. The move marked the next chapter for the Kiwi software firm, integrating its decades of experience into a broader platform to redefine commercial optimization.
