Capitânia Investimentos
Specialist asset manager for private credit and real estate.
Capitânia Investimentos is an independent asset management firm founded in 2003 by executives from Bank of America in Brazil. The founding partners include Cesar Lauro da Costa, Ricardo Quintero, and Arturo Profili. They leveraged their extensive experience in the local and international financial markets to establish a firm focused on providing treasury and investment solutions. Initially, the company managed multi-market funds, but it has since specialized its focus.
The firm operates primarily as an asset manager with a specialization in private credit, real estate, infrastructure, and agribusiness sectors. Its business model involves managing a variety of investment funds, including fixed income, asset-backed securities (ABS), credit funds (FIDCs), and real estate funds (FIIs), which are offered to a diverse client base of individual and institutional investors. Capitânia also provides financial advisory services, including corporate finance, risk management, and treasury consulting, priding itself on an independent and conflict-free approach. Revenue is generated through management fees on its assets under management, which stand at R$18 billion.
The company's investment process began with structuring and distributing FIDCs, launching its first credit fund in 2008. Recognizing opportunities in the real estate market, Capitânia established its first real estate fund of funds in February 2014. Today, its product offerings are extensive, catering to different investor profiles and including various listed funds such as CPTI11 (infrastructure), CPTS11 (real estate receivables), and others focused on corporate slabs, education, and hospitals. The firm's strategy is underpinned by a robust process of macro, sector, and company analysis, due diligence, and continuous risk monitoring.
