In 1980, from an idea by founder Roberto Franchina, Alfaparf was born in Northern Italy. With a small team, the company began creating products specifically for the professional hairdressing channel. The mission was clear: to elevate the services of salon professionals by providing them with products that combined Italian creativity with international trends. This focus on the professional user, understanding their needs through direct collaboration, became a core part of the company's DNA. A key turning point came in the 1990s as Alfaparf began its international expansion. It first exported to Spain and Latin America before establishing commercial branches and eventually production plants in countries like Brazil and Mexico. This move established a global footprint, which now spans over 100 countries. Unlike many of its peers, the company has remained a privately owned, Italian-capital multinational, a point of pride and a testament to its operational strength. While the company has grown organically through successful product lines like Semi di Lino, its playbook also includes strategic acquisitions. In 2009, Alfaparf acquired GTS S.p.A., expanding its portfolio into professional skincare and aesthetic equipment. More recently, the company has continued this strategy, acquiring companies like Tricobiotos and Xanitalia, further strengthening its market position in hair and body care.
