The European Commission's new hydrogen strategy from the European Green Deal forecasts hydrogen to satisfy 24% of Europe's energy demand by 2050. Furthermore, National Grid UK says that (green) hydrogen “could be the solution to many of the hardest parts of the transition to net-zero” particularly in shipping, heavy industry, and long-distance freight.
