The protocol is designed to address inefficiencies within the Decentralized Finance (DeFi) space by enhancing capital efficiency and interoperability across different blockchains. YEI Finance enables users to supply crypto assets to earn passive income or borrow assets by providing overcollateralized loans. The platform operates without taking custody of user funds, instead utilizing smart contracts to automate the lending and borrowing processes, ensuring users maintain full control over their assets. It supports a wide array of assets, including major cryptocurrencies like SEI, USDT, and WETH, as well as Liquid Staking Tokens (LSTs) and Liquid Restaking Tokens (LRTs).
A core feature of the platform is its "Liquidity Stacking" mechanism, which directs user liquidity to a base yield layer before allocating unutilized portions to other functions like trading and modular money markets to maximize returns. YEI Finance also employs a dynamic interest rate model that algorithmically adjusts based on supply and demand. For borrowers, the platform offers both traditional overcollateralized loans and undercollateralized flash loans. Its V2 iteration is focused on building an omnichain money market, introducing isolated lending pools for specific assets and risk profiles, and a dedicated app chain to serve as the protocol's core. Revenue is generated through fees on lending and borrowing, protocol transaction fees, liquidation fees, and cross-chain bridge fees.
