XTREME-D Inc., formerly known as XTREME Design Inc., is a Japanese technology firm established in February 2015, operating out of Shinagawa-City, Tokyo. The company was founded by Naoki Shibata, who serves as the CEO. XTREME-D is focused on making high-performance computing (HPC) resources more accessible and affordable.

The core of XTREME-D's business is its on-demand, cloud-based supercomputing services. Its flagship product, formerly known as XTREME DNA and later as XTREME-Stargate, enables users to deploy virtual supercomputer clusters on public or private clouds in approximately 10 minutes. This service significantly reduces the costs and technical expertise traditionally required to build and manage complex HPC environments. The platform automates the entire process, from construction and optimal operation monitoring to the eventual takedown of the system after use. The business model caters to a wide array of clients in sectors that require substantial computational power, such as AI, deep learning, CAE, IoT, smart cities, and bioinformatics. Revenue is generated through different access plans, including shared access via a fixed monthly subscription, dedicated access to physical servers, and private access where the service is housed at the client's own data center.

XTREME-D's service line-up is designed to meet various needs. The XTREME DNA HPC Cloud forms the foundational solution for deploying HPC environments on public clouds like Microsoft Azure. For clients with the most demanding AI and deep learning workloads, the XTREME DNA Ultimate HPC with Skyscale® provides access to high-end bare metal instances with powerful GPUs. The company also offers the XTREME DNA HPC Private Cloud, allowing customers to use the platform's management capabilities on their own private HPC servers. Since its inception, the company has actively pursued growth, securing $2.75 million in a Series A funding round in 2017 led by World Innovation Lab, bringing its total funding at the time to $4 million. This capital was aimed at research and development, as well as expansion into North American and EMEA markets.
