WorldTicket is a global provider of information technology, ticketing, and distribution solutions for the airline industry. Founded in 2002 by Lasse Meilsoe and headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark, the company partners with airlines to expand their global reach and sales capacity. It has additional offices in Poland, Ukraine, Thailand, and China to offer 24/7 support.
The company's core business revolves around its Passenger Service System (PSS) called Sell-More-Seats and its global distribution solutions, which allow partner airlines to be listed and sold through major Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Amadeus and Sabre. This is primarily achieved through its W2 GDS Sub-Hosting and W2 Ticketing solutions, which leverage its ownership of the Danish airline FlexFlight (IATA code: W2), acquired in 2011. This unique structure enables airlines, especially startups and low-cost carriers, to gain access to over 190 BSP markets and more than 100,000 IATA-accredited travel agencies without the lengthy implementation times and high costs associated with direct GDS participation. Airlines are listed under WorldTicket's IATA codes (W1 or W2) and can be ticketed globally.
In May 2022, WorldTicket was acquired by the Miami-based private investment firm 777 Partners and is now part of its 777 Travel Tech group, which also includes the PSS provider AeroCRS. This acquisition aims to create a more comprehensive portfolio of services for airlines. WorldTicket's client base includes over 75 airlines worldwide, such as Condor, Air Astana, SUNDAIR, and Go First.
