WorkChew is a marketplace that connects remote professionals with flexible workspaces in restaurants and hotels. Founded in late 2018 by CEO Maisha Burt and COO Allyson McDougal, the company was born from their own experiences as remote workers seeking productive environments outside of the traditional office or inconsistent coffee shops. McDougal, who has a background in enterprise sales, initially joined as one of WorkChew's first members before becoming a partner.

WorkChew's revenue is generated through a membership-based subscription model, offering various pass options for individuals, small businesses, and enterprise clients. For hotel partnerships, WorkChew earns a commission on conference room bookings.

WorkChew is a Techstars-backed company and has secured significant funding, including a $2.5 million seed round in March 2021 led by Harlem Capital. This investment has fueled the company's expansion into major cities like Washington D.C., Chicago, and New York, as well as its product and team development. In April 2022, WorkChew acquired the assets of New York-based KettleSpace, a similar flexible workspace provider, to solidify its presence in that key market and expand its network to over 100 locations.
