WizzPass, founded in 2015 in Johannesburg, South Africa, by Ulrich Stark, Bradley Hornby, and Tyron Fouche, has established itself as a key player in the workplace management solutions sector. Initially concentrating on simplifying corporate parking and access control, the company identified a broader need to replace inefficient and insecure manual visitor systems. This led to a strategic pivot towards a comprehensive visitor management platform. The company's growth was bolstered by its participation in the Techstars Cape Town accelerator in 2016 and the Grindstone Accelerator program in 2019/20.

The firm's core business revolves around a cloud-based platform designed to streamline and secure the management of visitors, employees, and deliveries in various facilities. Its clientele primarily consists of corporate offices, industrial and manufacturing facilities, and multi-tenant office buildings. The platform addresses the entire visitor lifecycle, from pre-registration via calendar invites to touchless check-in options like QR codes and facial recognition, and the inclusion of safety inductions or health screenings. Following the shift to hybrid work models, WizzPass expanded its services to include workspace and desk booking, allowing employees to reserve office space through a real-time, cloud-based system. This functionality integrates with access control systems to manage building capacity and ensure only authorized personnel are on-site.

A significant milestone in the company's history was its acquisition by the US-based digital workplace solutions provider, FM:Systems, in June 2021 for an undisclosed amount. This event integrated WizzPass's technology into FM:Systems' broader suite of products, rebranding it as FMS:Engage. The acquisition aimed to combine WizzPass's visitor management capabilities with FM:Systems' extensive workplace management solutions, offering clients a single, comprehensive platform. Before the acquisition, WizzPass had processed over 10 million secure events across more than 300 locations on four continents, serving numerous blue-chip companies.
