Wishfie

Founded in 2017 by Akshay Pruthi and Durgesh Kaushik, Wishfie was a mobile-based social video platform headquartered in Bengaluru, India. The company positioned itself within the digital media and entertainment sector, targeting users who wanted to express and gather opinions on trending topics, news, and events through a collaborative video format. One of the co-founders, Durgesh Kaushik, is a former Facebook employee who went on to become Vice President at Reddit, bringing industry experience to the venture.

The platform's core functionality allowed a user to initiate a topic, record their own short video opinion using their device's camera, and then invite friends or contacts to contribute their own video responses. Wishfie would then merge these individual clips into a single, shareable video montage. This process was designed to be a simple, self-serve way to create collaborative content, similar in concept to panel debates seen on news channels but accessible to everyday users. The application was available on both Android and Apple app stores. Beyond debates, the service could also be used to create personalized video messages for special occasions like birthdays and anniversaries.

In May 2018, Wishfie secured approximately $80,000 in a seed funding round from angel investors. The company was also a part of Facebook's FbStart program, which supports mobile startups. Despite its initial traction and funding, public records indicate that Wishfie ceased operations around December 2018.
