Founded in 2014 by Romain Lefeuvre and Marc Joussé, Wisepack entered the market with the objective of providing ecological and economically viable alternatives to industrial packaging. The Paris-based firm focused on developing packaging products from natural and organic materials. Romain Lefeuvre's background includes an engineering degree and experience in project management and business development, skills that were directly applicable to co-founding and managing the startup.
Wisepack's business model centered on the production and commercialization of these alternative packaging solutions. The company targeted businesses looking to reduce their environmental impact. In January 2015, the company received an accelerator/incubator stage investment of $36.9K. The firm also held a patent for a packaging for energy supply, filed in October 2016.
However, the venture appears to have ceased operations, with its status listed as "Out of Business" as of September 2018. Co-founder Romain Lefeuvre moved on to roles at E.Leclerc PARIDIS starting in February 2019. The company's primary focus was within the containers and packaging industry.
