Wildfire

Wildfire was a mobile application designed to keep college students informed about important events happening nearby and facilitate anonymous communication within the campus community. The app allowed users to quickly spread the word about significant events, such as safety incidents or social movements, by sending out alerts to people in the vicinity. Wildfire served college students who needed a platform to organize, share information, and fight against injustices, particularly in housing and financial matters. The app operated in the social networking and safety alert market, leveraging a freemium model where basic services were free, but additional features could be unlocked through in-app purchases. Wildfire generated revenue through these in-app purchases and possibly through partnerships or advertising. The app was active from 2015 to 2021, after which the Wildfire team joined Opendoor to focus on building and scaling products for local markets.
