Vulcan Express Pvt. Ltd. was established in 2013 as an end-to-end logistics and supply chain service provider based in Gurugram, India. The company was co-founded by Deepak Rishi and Sunder Lal Garg. Positioned to serve the burgeoning e-commerce market, Vulcan Express was launched to manage shipments for its parent company, the Indian e-commerce major Snapdeal, which made significant investments into its subsidiary.

The firm's business model was centered on providing comprehensive logistics solutions tailored for online retailers and merchants. Its service portfolio included first-mile pickup, consolidation, warehousing and fulfillment operations, intercity line haul and freight services, and crucial last-mile delivery. The company developed capabilities to handle a high volume of daily shipments, operating across numerous cities and pin codes in India. This integrated network allowed its e-commerce clients to streamline their supply chain, reduce operational costs, and ensure timely delivery to end customers. Additional services included reverse logistics for handling product returns, quality control, and inventory tracking.

A significant milestone in the company's history occurred in January 2018, when Future Supply Chain Solutions, part of Kishore Biyani's Future Group, acquired Vulcan Express in an all-cash deal. The acquisition was a strategic move by Future Group to bolster its last-mile delivery capabilities and support its integrated e-commerce and retail strategy. For Snapdeal, the sale was part of a strategic divestment of non-core assets, allowing it to concentrate on its primary online marketplace business.
