Vrey, registered as RE Joule GmbH, is a Berlin-based PropTech company founded in 2024 by Julius Pahmeier and Cedric Jaeger. The company operates as the first fully integrated provider for communal building supply in Germany, specializing in making solar energy systems on multi-family houses economically viable for landlords and property owners.

Vrey provides an all-in-one service that includes the planning and installation of photovoltaic systems, as well as the technical and administrative infrastructure for their operation. This is achieved through its role as a competitive metering point operator (wMSB) combined with a digital platform for automated, legally compliant billing of solar power delivered to tenants. The company’s model is designed to align with Germany's §42b of the Energy Industry Act (EnWG), which facilitates the communal use of self-generated solar power.

The business model allows property owners to generate additional returns by selling solar power directly to their tenants, thereby increasing the property's value. Tenants, in turn, benefit from lower electricity costs, potentially saving up to 20%. Vrey's approach removes the full supplier obligation from landlords, as the platform manages contracts and handles communication with existing energy providers for residual electricity needs. In early 2025, Vrey secured an early-stage VC investment from Styx Urban Investments to scale its operations.
