Vonetize, established in 2008 and incorporated in Cyprus in 2011, operated as a provider of end-to-end Video on Demand (VOD) and Over-the-Top (OTT) media solutions. The company was co-founded by Noam Josephides, who served as Chairman and CEO, and Oren Levy, the CTO. Josephides, a serial tech entrepreneur and former Air Force captain with a background in film, brought a creative and technological vision to the company. Levy's role as CTO was central to developing the company's technology platform.

The firm's core business involved developing premium content services and technology platforms for Smart TVs and other connected devices. Vonetize's business model was twofold, incorporating both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) strategies, with a distinct preference for B2B partnerships. Its primary clients were Communications Service Providers (CSPs) and consumer electronics manufacturers like Samsung, LG, and Toshiba. For these partners, Vonetize provided a comprehensive, pre-installable solution that included front-end applications, a content management system, user management, and billing, enabling partners to launch premium content services quickly. This model generated revenue through wholesale pricing and minimum guarantees from CSPs or by utilizing its own billing and clearance technology for electronics manufacturers.

Vonetize's product suite featured a variety of themed VOD channels, such as SmartVOD for premium movies, The Bollywood HD Movie Channel, Baby Channel for toddlers, and Total Music for concerts and music videos. The company licensed content from major studios including Disney, Warner Bros., and Fox, offering it to millions of viewers, with a strategic focus on emerging markets in Africa and Latin America. This focus was driven by lower content licensing costs and less competition compared to the US and Western Europe. The company went public on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) in July 2016. In March 2018, Desilu Studios announced it was acquiring a controlling stake in Vonetize, a deal that was ultimately cancelled in November 2018. Trading in Vonetize securities was suspended by the TASE in September 2019, and the company is now considered inactive.
