VITECH
AI-powered predictive maintenance for the mining industry.
VITECH, a service by the Chilean company Fukai Data, provides a predictive maintenance solution for the mining industry. The technology utilizes wireless sensors to capture vibration and temperature data from heavy-tonnage mobile equipment. This data is then processed by an artificial intelligence-based software platform to detect early-stage failures in rotating components up to six months before a critical event, aiming to eliminate unscheduled downtime and increase machine availability.
The development of Vitech took three years. The company was founded in 2022 by Pablo Álvarez and Milton Astudillo. A significant achievement for the company was winning the Impacta Minería 2022 competition, organized by Chile's National Piloting Center (CNP), which provided an opportunity to pilot and validate the solution in an industrial setting. Vitech was also selected for the third generation of the Aster accelerator, managed by Magical Startups, to advance its technical and commercial validation with mining companies in the Antofagasta region.
Vitech's business model is centered on providing its monitoring and diagnostic software as a service. The technology is designed to work without relying on historical data, using deterministic models and advanced mathematical algorithms to process vibration signals and identify critical patterns in real-time. The system is applicable to a range of critical equipment in mining, manufacturing, and energy sectors, such as mills, crushers, generators, and turbines. Clients are industrial companies, primarily in the mining sector, seeking to optimize maintenance schedules, reduce operational costs, and enhance safety by preventing catastrophic equipment failures.
