In 2008, as online video was just beginning to show its potential, Daniel Goldstein and Renece Brewster started Visual Domain in Melbourne with a simple goal: make video production accessible and affordable for all businesses. They began by focusing on the real estate industry, just the two of them in a shared office, aiming to simplify what was then considered a complex and expensive process. The company grew by focusing on creating a high volume of quality content, eventually developing an in-house platform to manage the production of up to 300 videos a week. This efficiency allowed them to expand their services beyond real estate to corporate clients, social media content, and animations, growing to a team of over 80 people with offices in Melbourne and Sydney. A significant chapter in their journey began in October 2021, when News Corp Australia acquired a majority stake in the company, recognizing the growing importance of video content. This partnership provided Visual Domain with greater resources and reach. The story culminated in March 2024, when News Corp Australia acquired the remaining shares, taking full ownership of the company. Following the acquisition, founders Daniel Goldstein and Renece Brewster stepped down, leaving the company they built from the ground up as a major player in Australia's commercial video production landscape.
