Vianova provides a mobility intelligence platform designed to facilitate collaboration between city governments and mobility operators. The company was founded in Paris, France, in 2019 by Thibault Castagne (CEO), Thibaud Febvre (COO), and Frédéric Robinet (CTO). The founding team was inspired to create Vianova after observing the chaotic rollout of free-floating bicycles and e-scooters in Paris in 2017 and 2018, recognizing the need for a data-driven intermediary to manage urban space and safety.

The founders brought diverse and relevant experience to the venture. Thibault Castagne previously worked in quantitative development at HSBC and as an energy trader, which sparked his interest in electric mobility and led him to found Spark Horizon, an ad-sponsored EV charging network, in 2017. Thibaud Febvre began his career at IBM and later worked as a Product Marketing Manager at Google on AI products before co-founding Spark Horizon with Castagne. Frédéric Robinet served as the CTO of the Connected Car Platform for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, managing large international teams and developing the necessary technologies for connected vehicles before joining Vianova in early 2020.

Vianova's core business revolves around a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform that aggregates, analyzes, and visualizes data from connected vehicles, including e-scooters, bikes, and cars. This data intelligence enables cities to monitor mobility services, create and enforce policies like no-parking zones or speed limits through geofencing, and make informed decisions on infrastructure planning, such as the placement of bike lanes. For mobility providers, the platform helps optimize fleet operations, ensure compliance with city regulations, and improve service efficiency. Vianova serves both public sector clients, which constitute about two-thirds of its revenue, and private enterprises like mobility operators and logistics companies. The platform functions as a real-time dashboard and an analytics tool, processing data from over a million connected vehicles daily.

Since its inception, Vianova has expanded its footprint across Europe and into new markets, serving over 150 clients, including cities like Helsinki, Milan, and Stockholm, and operators such as Lime and Bolt. The company has successfully raised capital to fuel its growth, securing a €1.8 million seed round in 2020, followed by a €6 million Series A round in late 2022 led by Baloise. Total funding has reached approximately $11.7 million through various rounds. Vianova aims to become the central operating system for urban mobility, addressing challenges like traffic congestion, road safety, and emissions reduction.
