Don Pancho's Tex-Mex Cafe is a long-standing restaurant entity located in Alliance, Ohio, which has built its reputation on serving Tex-Mex cuisine. The business operates as a single-location, family-run establishment providing a casual dining experience. Its revenue is generated directly from the sale of food and beverages to its clientele, which includes local patrons and visitors, with services such as dine-in, takeout, delivery, and catering available.
The company was founded by Francisco "Pancho" DeLeon, who, along with his wife Sofia Sepeda and their seven children, entered the restaurant industry on May 4, 1970. DeLeon's background was diverse, having worked as a migrant worker, carpenter, electrician, and in a meat packing plant before transitioning into the food business. The family's first venture was at a Sinclair Gas Station in Lake Milton, Ohio. This was followed by a period of expansion, with new restaurants opening in Brimfield in 1971, Alliance in 1972, and Greensburg in 1977. A significant milestone was the acquisition of a Motor Inn in 1981, which they operated for 16 years. The current Alliance location on West State Street was established in January 1997. After Francisco DeLeon passed away in 2008, the business continued under the stewardship of his family, and now involves two of his children and new ownership, who aim to maintain the founder's legacy.
Don Pancho's offers a menu that spans breakfast, lunch, and dinner, featuring a wide array of familiar Tex-Mex dishes. The menu includes appetizers like stuffed jalapenos and chicken corn flautas, various combination dinners, and entrees focused on pork and steak, such as Pork Carnitas and Carne Asada. The restaurant also provides a full bar and has been noted for its chips and salsa. The establishment caters to a broad customer base, including families and business professionals, offering options for business meetings and vegetarian dietary needs.
