A Small Orange was a web hosting company founded in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2003 by Tim Dorr. Dorr, a Georgia Tech student at the time, started the company during his junior year and grew it to 25,000 customers primarily through word-of-mouth before selling it in 2010.

In 2010, the company was acquired by Douglas Hanna and his business partner. Hanna, who previously worked at HostGator.com, took over as CEO. His strategy was to acquire and improve web hosting companies that were not meeting their full potential. Under his leadership, the company's offerings included shared, reseller, VPS, and dedicated web hosting. Shared hosting was its most popular product, with plans starting at $25 per year. The business catered to a diverse client base, from individuals and personal blogs to medium-sized businesses, hosting approximately half a million websites by 2012.

In 2012, A Small Orange was acquired by Endurance International Group (EIG), a large conglomerate known for purchasing numerous hosting brands. Despite the acquisition, A Small Orange initially maintained its brand identity and service quality, with Hanna continuing as CEO for about two years. However, EIG's parent company was later acquired by Clearlake Capital Group in a deal valued at approximately $3.0 billion, which closed in early 2021. Following this, EIG's web presence division, which included A Small Orange, was merged with Web.com to form a new entity called Newfold Digital.
