Veduca Edtech, a São Paulo-based educational technology company, was founded in March 2012 by Carlos Souza, Marcelo Mejlachowicz, André Tachian, and Eduardo Zancul. The founders aimed to democratize access to high-quality education through online video. One of the co-founders, Eduardo Zancul, is a Professor in Production Engineering at the University of São Paulo, specializing in product development and management. The company's genesis involved aggregating and curating video lectures from premier global universities, such as Harvard, MIT, and Stanford, and making them accessible to a Brazilian audience by adding Portuguese subtitles. This strategy was a direct response to the market's needs, as a very small percentage of the Brazilian population is proficient in English.

The company operates on a freemium business model, offering a vast library of free online courses while generating revenue through paid certifications and corporate training solutions. Initially, Veduca monetized by selling books that complemented the free video classes. In June 2013, it pioneered the first Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) with certification in Latin America in partnership with professors from the University of São Paulo (USP). This was followed by the launch of the world's first open online MBA. For its paid certification programs, students receive tutoring, access to exclusive forums, and guidance on case studies and final projects. Veduca also provides corporate training packages, which became a significant revenue source.

Veduca's platform hosts a diverse range of courses covering subjects like project management, innovation management, strategic planning, finance, and even specialized topics such as sleep medicine and LGBTQ+ concepts. A key feature from its early days was a patented search algorithm allowing users to find specific terms within videos and jump directly to that point. The company secured its first seed funding round of approximately $750,000 in October 2012 from investors including 500 Global (formerly 500 Startups) and Mountain do Brasil. This was followed by another funding round in 2013. In 2022, Veduca was acquired by Inova GS.
