vamos!, formerly known as SipTogether, was a German technology startup focused on connecting students. The company developed a mobile application that featured an interactive map, allowing users to discover and create local events and spontaneous activities, ranging from parties to study groups. The core idea was to enhance the shared student life experience by making it easy to see what was happening in the area and to organize get-togethers.
The concept for vamos! originated with founder Jan Hecker in the summer of 2019, when he was 18 years old. He worked on the project daily from its inception. In May 2023, vamos! was acquired by Jodel, a hyperlocal community platform that connects users with people in their immediate vicinity. Following the acquisition, founder Jan Hecker joined the Jodel team in Berlin, working in Product & Moderation, with the intention of integrating similar activity-finding features into the Jodel platform.
