The story of Uğurlu Cam begins in 1971 in Denizli, Turkey, not in a large factory, but in a modest 40-square-meter shop. Founder Sadık Duman, after trying his hand at various trades, made a pivotal decision to move his family to Denizli, investing the money from selling his house into a new venture: fitting glass for automobiles. His sons, İrfan and Muammer Duman, joined him, and together they built a reputation for having the right glass for almost any car, creating the local belief that "If Uğurlu doesn't have it, nobody in Turkey does." This reputation for service was the foundation for their expansion. Ten years after opening, the family business transitioned from simply fitting glass to wholesale distribution. The real turning point came in 1989 when they began manufacturing their own automotive glass, a significant leap from their retail origins. This move allowed them to become a key supplier for the automotive replacement market and for specialized vehicle manufacturers like MAN and Temsa. A major event in their journey was a partnership with Syntaxis Capital, which provided a EUR 13.5 million mezzanine loan for growth and potential acquisitions. This financing marked a new phase of expansion. Today, under the leadership of Chairman İrfan Duman, the company, now known as Uğurlu Glass, operates from three factories and a warehouse totaling 42,000 square meters. It has diversified into industrial and architectural glass, exporting to 37 countries and serving 650 dealers across Turkey, a testament to a journey from a small repair shop to a major industrial player.
