Truliv is a co-living and alternative hospitality startup founded in 2019 by Rohit Reddy and Ranjeeth Rathod as a subsidiary of the South Indian real estate group, DRA Homes. Based in Chennai, the company operates on an asset-light, built-to-suit model, managing and designing rental spaces without owning the properties. This approach combines real estate efficiency with hospitality services to cater to a demographic of young professionals, students, and digital nomads, primarily between the ages of 22 and 35.
Co-founder and CEO Rohit Reddy is a strategic leader focused on making Truliv a profitable, tech-driven brand. Co-founder and Managing Director Ranjeeth Rathod brings extensive real estate experience, having developed over 4 million square feet and delivered 4,500 homes. The company's business model involves taking entire projects on long-term leases, managing the units through its operational wing, and providing property owners with a fixed monthly rental income. For tenants, Truliv offers fully furnished, all-inclusive flexible living spaces with professional services, aiming to provide a community-focused experience.
Initially focused on co-living spaces for working professionals in Chennai, Truliv has expanded its offerings to include holiday homes and has plans to enter student housing and retirement living sectors. The company has secured a total of $2.1 million in funding over three seed rounds. A significant pre-seed round in 2023 raised $1.5 million, and a subsequent strategic equity partnership with Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd (BCCL) in June 2025 valued the company at ₹356.5 crore. These funds are allocated for expansion into new cities such as Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad, as well as for enhancing its technology platform. For the financial year ending March 31, 2024, Truliv reported revenue of ₹15.55 crore. The company projects annual revenues of ₹200 crore within the next three years.
