Trip38's business model focused on generating revenue through paid partnerships with hotels, travel agents, and tourism boards. The company secured approximately $1 million in a seed funding round in late 2014, with investment from InterGlobe Technology Quotient (part of the group that promotes IndiGo airlines) and Singapore-based Lantern Capital. This capital was intended to enhance the product's technology, expand its user base through marketing, and add features like mobile boarding passes and iBeacon integration for location-aware services. At its peak, the app had been downloaded in numerous countries and aggregated a substantial database of hotels and tourist attractions. However, according to PitchBook, the company is now listed as out of business as of April 2021.
