TLI Inc. is a fabless semiconductor company based in South Korea that designs, manufactures, and sells semiconductor devices. Founded on October 28, 1998, the company's main products are core chipsets for display panels, including Timing Controllers (TCONs) and Display Driver ICs (DDIs). TLI has a significant history of supplying LCD-driving semiconductors to major electronics companies like LG Display.
The company's product portfolio includes timing controllers that convert video signals for panel drivers, Micro/Mini LED driver ICs, source and gate driver ICs, and local dimming products. It also designs and produces sensors and sensor modules. TLI's business model is centered on the design and subsequent sale of these specialized semiconductor components to display manufacturers in Korea and internationally. While it primarily served the market for large and medium-sized display panels for TVs and notebooks, it has also been developing DDIs for small OLED panels used in mobile devices.
Originally listed on the KOSDAQ in 2006, TLI was later delisted. As of March 2024, TLI Inc. operates as a subsidiary of Wonik Holdings Co., Ltd. This acquisition followed a period of financial difficulty for TLI. Wonik Group also acquired another fabless company, previously known as Design-to-Innovation (now Wonik D2i), with the strategic aim of creating synergies in the Display Driver IC market. An initial plan to merge TLI and Wonik D2i was later withdrawn.
