Thrust Flight

Thrust Flight is a proprietary educational institution specializing in career-oriented flight training for aspiring professional pilots. Founded in 2006 by aviators Patrick Arnzen and Stuart Stevenson, the company initially focused on distributing light sport aircraft. Recognizing a market need, the company pivoted in 2016 to concentrate exclusively on professional pilot training, launching its flagship 'Zero Time to Airline®' program. This shift was solidified in 2018 with the rebranding to Thrust Flight.

The institution operates a main campus in Addison, Texas, with satellite locations in Conroe and Denison, providing students with experience in varied airspace conditions. Its business model centers on tuition from its comprehensive training programs, which guide students from zero flight hours to obtaining their Certified Flight Instructor Certificate and other ratings necessary for an airline career. The curriculum is delivered through classroom instruction, advanced flight simulators, and hands-on training in a modern fleet. The company's aircraft fleet includes numerous Piper Archer TX and Piper Seminole aircraft equipped with Garmin G1000 avionics. The 'Zero Time to Airline®' program is an accelerated, FAA-approved Part 141 course designed to prepare graduates for entry-level flight crew positions. In September 2024, private equity firm Summit Park acquired Thrust Flight, partnering with the existing management team to support further growth.

Beyond pilot training, the company operates the Thrust Institute of Maintenance, a Part 147 school for earning an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic certificate, and Texas Aircraft Maintenance, a Part 145 certified repair station. The firm also has an airline industry advisory board, composed of active senior airline captains and check airmen, who mentor students and help refine the curriculum.
