The Tile Council of North America (TCNA) is an international trade association dedicated to expanding the market for ceramic tile manufactured in North America. TCNA sets the standard for the tile industry by developing criteria for health and safety, sustainability, material and environmental transparency, international certification, and numerous quality standards that protect consumers. The organization achieves its goals through consensus building, research and testing, advocacy, and outreach.
TCNA membership is open to all domestic North American tile manufacturers. Additionally, associate memberships are available for art studio tile manufacturers, domestic installation materials manufacturers, and domestic raw material and equipment suppliers to domestic tile manufacturers. The TCNA also offers Affiliated Product memberships for domestic manufacturers selling specialized products and tools, cleaning and maintenance products, and metal or resin tile to the ceramic tile industry.
Currently, TCNA membership represents over 98% of ceramic tile production in North America. The organization plays a crucial role in addressing industry challenges such as cracked tile, frost resistance, hollow loose tile, lippage, and grout issues. TCNA also provides resources and standards for various installation scenarios, including exteriors, showers, steam rooms, and different types of membranes and mortars.
TCNA generates revenue through membership fees, certification programs, and industry events.
