The National Endowment for Financial Education (NEFE) is a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan, and noncommercial foundation that educates Americans on a broad range of financial topics. The foundation funds research and awards research-based development grants that advance innovative thinking and contribute to the understanding of financial behavior. It enables experts from various fields representing associations, financial planning professionals, academic institutions, think-tanks, financial services industries, regulatory associations, and the federal government to contribute their knowledge and experience on critical personal finance issues affecting American families. The foundation provides funding, logistical support, and personal finance expertise to develop a variety of materials and programs, including the award-winning High School Financial Planning Program, the CashCourse college program, and the consumer-oriented Smart About Money public awareness campaign.
