In 1972, the Ventresca family founded Midas Utilities in the Mid-Atlantic region, a company built to service and repair essential utility infrastructure. For over four decades, the family quietly grew the business, focusing on the unglamorous but critical work of maintaining water and sewer systems. Their core business was utility construction and repair, a traditional 'dig and replace' operation. Over time, the company expanded its expertise into more specialized, non-traditional methods. Recognizing the opportunity in 'trenchless' technologies, which repair underground pipes without major excavation, the business evolved. This led to the formation of The Midas Companies, an integrated group of businesses designed to tackle complex infrastructure challenges like pipe bursting and manhole rehabilitation. This strategic shift allowed them to offer a wider range of turnkey solutions for water, sewer, and industrial piping systems. After 45 years of continuous family ownership and operation, The Midas Companies reached a significant turning point. In 2017, the Ventresca family partnered with a private equity firm, Palm Beach Capital. This investment provided the capital needed to expand their specialized services and geographic footprint, building on the family's long-standing foundation to meet the growing demands of aging infrastructure across the United States.
