Telford Offshore provides versatile and cost-effective construction and project management solutions for the oil and gas industry. Headquartered in Dubai, UAE, the company operates a fleet of five modern DP3 multi-purpose support vessels that can work in challenging environments. These vessels are designed to undertake diverse operations, often combining multiple services from a single platform, such as accommodation, heavy lifting, pipelay, and subsea construction.
The company was officially launched in February 2018, acquiring four vessels from Sea Trucks Group following its liquidation. The formation was a strategic move by the former bondholders of Sea Trucks to create a new, financially stable entity from the operational assets. Fraser Moore, who had previously been COO at Sea Trucks, was appointed CEO to lead the new venture. In February 2023, Telford Offshore was acquired by entities affiliated with Merced Capital, a US-based private investment firm. As part of this acquisition, Robert Duncan, an executive with over two decades of experience in the offshore energy and marine industries, was appointed CEO, succeeding Fraser Moore.
Telford Offshore serves major clients in the oil and gas sector, including national and international oil companies like Total, Shell, and BP. Its business model focuses on providing high-utility assets that offer safe and efficient access to offshore worksites. The fleet—comprising Telford 25, Telford 28, Telford 30, Telford 31, and Telford 34—features DP3 (Dynamic Positioning) capabilities and permanent walk-to-work systems, which ensures high connectivity to offshore installations and reduces downtime. Each vessel is equipped for a range of services: the Telford 25 and Telford 34, for example, have 800-ton cranes and pipelay capabilities, alongside large deck space and accommodation for several hundred personnel.
