SWS Computersysteme
IT infrastructure, services, and solutions for businesses.
The year is 1987. In the small Bavarian town of Hauzenberg, a company called SWS Computersysteme is founded. Their first goal was specific: develop and market business software for hairdressing salons. The founders, Lothar Fesl, Werner Kopczynski, and Christian Schreiner, soon expanded their vision. By 1988, the company had added a workshop for IT and electronics repairs. The business grew steadily, and by the early 90s, SWS was an early adopter in providing internet access for regional companies, laying the groundwork for its future in IT infrastructure and security. They focused on serving medium-sized businesses, becoming a key IT systems house in the region. The story takes a significant turn in 2008. SWS Computersysteme is acquired by the Austrian IT giant, ACP Group. This move was part of ACP's expansion strategy into Germany and a response to the ongoing consolidation in the IT systems house market. The founders continued to manage SWS, ensuring continuity while integrating into the larger group. Following the acquisition, SWS continued to grow, eventually employing over 150 people. Finally, in April 2023, as part of a one-brand strategy, SWS Computersysteme AG was fully renamed to ACP IT Solutions AG, marking the end of one chapter and the continuation of its journey within a larger European player.
