The business model centered on a mobile application available on both iOS and Android. Through the app, users could sign up in a few minutes and receive a personalized phone plan recommendation. Sweet's main value proposition was simplifying the process of switching carriers. A feature called the "1-Tap Switch" tool facilitated the connection with a user's existing provider, including major national networks, to confirm the new service. The platform emphasized transparency, allowing users to see the new price, check device compatibility, and review coverage plans before making a commitment. Notably, the service required no contracts, commitments, or credit checks.

Sweet acted as an intermediary, handling the work of finding the best deals for consumers while the major networks continued to provide the actual network infrastructure and service. However, as of August 15th, 2020, Sweet ceased operations. The shutdown, which also included its sub-brands like Lunar Wireless, was a direct result of a dramatic increase in wholesale rates following mergers within the telecommunications industry. The leadership team decided to shut down the service rather than pass the increased costs on to their customers.
