Swaps.io
Automated cross-chain swapping via intent-based P2P auction.
Swaps.io operates a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol that facilitates automated, cross-chain digital asset swaps. The company, founded in 2022 by Mike Shishko and Tigran Bolshoi and headquartered in Dubai, was formerly known as Kinetex Network. The rebranding occurred after the project's mission expanded beyond its initial scope.
The platform's core is an intent-based, peer-to-peer (P2P) auction model. Users submit their desired trade, or "intent," to a marketplace where professional players, called Intent Agents, compete to fill the order under the most favorable conditions. This system is designed to provide users with fixed rates, eliminating price slippage, and near-instantaneous, gasless transactions, as Intent Agents cover these costs. The protocol leverages Zero-Knowledge (ZK) proofs and account abstraction to ensure security and automate complex interactions without users needing to manage multiple network transactions or hold various native tokens for gas fees.
The architecture supports native asset trading without creating wrapped tokens, which mitigates risks associated with fragmented liquidity and TVL attacks. Security is further enhanced through a collateralized system, where Intent Agents must lock up funds greater than the swap amount, and a decentralized ZK-based liquidation process allows any participant to resolve an unfilled order and claim the agent's collateral. In May 2025, Swaps.io launched Swaps Market, an open platform described as an "App Store for dApps," which allows users to discover and interact with over 150 decentralized applications using the same intent-based infrastructure for actions beyond simple swaps, such as staking and liquidity provision.
