SWAN was established in 2000 and has grown into a major telecommunications provider in Slovakia. A significant milestone occurred at the beginning of 2022 when SWAN merged with its sister company, SWAN Mobile (which operated the 4ka brand). This merger created a fully-fledged convergent operator, positioning it as the third national operator in Slovakia with offerings that combine fixed and mobile services. This followed an earlier merger in 2019 with BENESTRA, which at the time created one of the largest alternative telecommunication operators in the country. The company's strategy focuses on providing customized, high-quality solutions, supported by its modern nationwide network and international connectivity.

For business clients, SWAN provides internet, data services like Ethernet VPN and MPLS IP VPN, voice services, cloud and data center solutions including virtual data centers and collocation, and managed services. For residential customers, under the 4ka brand, it offers mobile services, high-speed internet via fiber and a fixed LTE/5G network, and television services. The company was the first in Slovakia to put a 5G network into commercial operation and is actively expanding its coverage.
