Surebird is a Dutch insurtech startup founded in March 2022 by Taco van Wachem and co-founder Daan Vroom. Based in Amsterdam, the company provides a digital platform that simplifies how consumers manage their insurance policies. The platform functions as an insurance wallet, allowing users to consolidate and monitor all their policies in one place.

The core service goes beyond traditional comparison websites by actively monitoring a user's insurance portfolio. The system automatically detects when a policy no longer aligns with the user's life situation, such as moving, having a child, or changing jobs, and provides independent recommendations to improve coverage or reduce costs. This addresses the common issue of consumers having outdated or overpriced insurance due to passivity. The company's business model is based on receiving payments from insurers, ensuring the service is free for users.

In July 2025, Surebird secured €1.165 million in a seed funding round led by Quantum Leap Capital, Dutch Operator Fund, and Bright Business. This investment is aimed at expanding the platform's features, including broadening the range of available insurance products like pet and health insurance, enhancing the user interface, and speeding up claims processing. Notable industry expert Coen de Ruiter, former CEO of the comparison site Independer, joined as the chairman of the advisory board, adding significant market expertise. Surebird currently offers a range of insurance types including car, home, liability, travel, and legal expenses, with plans to add more.
