Supenta was a London-based technology startup that designed and created the Flitchio, a smartphone case featuring a built-in game controller. The company's primary product, the Flitchio, was developed to enhance the mobile gaming experience by integrating tactile controls directly onto a protective phone case.
The Flitchio case incorporated two flat, pressure-sensitive joysticks and shoulder buttons on the back, allowing users to play games without obstructing the screen. A key feature of the device was its use of Near Field Communication (NFC) for both connectivity and power, which eliminated the need for batteries or Bluetooth pairing and resulted in minimal power consumption from the phone. The controls were designed to be slim and sit flush with the case, ensuring the phone remained easy to handle for non-gaming activities. Beyond gaming, the controller could be used for other functions such as piloting drones, taking selfies, and controlling music.
In 2015, Supenta launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of Flitchio, initially for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge models. The campaign aimed to raise approximately $77,800 USD. The company had also raised a seed round of $147,372 in January 2013.
