The company was founded as Yolo Inc. in June 2015 by Shin Akaogi while he was still a university student. In January 2019, it released "Sukima Works," a matching platform for single-day, on-demand part-time jobs designed to connect businesses needing immediate staff with workers looking for flexible employment. Following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sukima Works pivoted to focus on the logistics industry, which led to a significant V-shaped recovery and growth for the business. Another key service is "LogiHero," a staffing platform specifically for logistics warehouses.

In August 2025, Sukima Works was acquired by and became a group company of Timee, Inc., a major player in the Japanese spot-work market. This acquisition aims to combine the strengths of both companies, leveraging Sukima Works' expertise in business process outsourcing (BPO) and on-site operational management within logistics centers to enhance service offerings and address labor shortages more effectively. The business model primarily involves charging client companies a fee, often calculated as a percentage of the worker's pay.
