Strattic operates as a specialized hosting platform that converts WordPress websites into a static, headless architecture. Founded in 2018 by CEO Miriam Schwab and COO Josh Lawrence, the Jerusalem-based company was established to address the security and performance challenges inherent in dynamic WordPress sites. Schwab's journey into tech began with self-taught coding, leading to the creation of a successful WordPress development agency. After more than a decade of firsthand experience with the difficulties of managing and securing client sites, she conceived of Strattic, inspired by the speed and security of static site generators.

The company's core service offering involves converting a dynamic WordPress site, with its reliance on PHP processing and database queries, into a static replica composed of pre-rendered HTML, CSS, and JavaScript files. This process effectively decouples the live website from the WordPress backend, which is kept in a secure, containerized environment that only spins up when a user needs to make changes. By serving a static version of the site through a global Content Delivery Network (CDN), Strattic's platform aims to deliver significantly faster load times, enhanced security by minimizing the attack surface for vulnerabilities like SQL injections, and greater scalability to handle high traffic without performance degradation. The business model is subscription-based, with tiered plans targeting clients from small businesses to large enterprises, including global companies and government agencies.

A significant milestone in Strattic's history occurred in February 2020, when it secured $6.5 million in a seed funding round led by SignalFire and TenOneTen Ventures, with participation from notable investors including Accel and Automattic. This funding was pivotal after initial challenges in securing investment within the Israeli market for a WordPress-focused venture. In June 2022, Strattic was acquired by Elementor, a prominent WordPress website builder platform. Following the acquisition, Strattic continues to operate as a distinct product unit, branded "Strattic by Elementor," with Schwab serving as the Head of Strattic before transitioning to Head of WordPress Relations at Elementor.
