Fetch is a global, mobile-first digital performance agency that originated from the merger of Steak Group and Fetch Media in 2017. Founded in 2009 by James Connelly and Declan Reddington, Fetch quickly established itself as a prominent mobile advertising agency in Europe. Prior to starting Fetch, Reddington had founded the media planning firm AdConnection. The agency specializes in a comprehensive suite of services including strategy, media planning and buying, creative, and analytics, with a core focus on mobile marketing, paid social, and search.
The company's business model centers on providing performance-based marketing strategies for high-performance, digital-economy brands with a mobile-first mindset. It generates revenue through commissions on media planning and buying, as well as fees for creative projects. In November 2014, Fetch was acquired by Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN) for approximately £30 million, a move designed to significantly enhance DAN's mobile capabilities. Despite the acquisition, Fetch retained its brand identity and continued to operate with its existing management team, expanding its global footprint to offices in London, New York, San Francisco, Berlin, and Hong Kong. Co-founder James Connelly eventually departed the business in 2019.
A significant structural change occurred in September 2019, when Dentsu Aegis Network announced the integration of Fetch into iProspect, its global digital performance agency. This merger was a strategic decision to create a unified service offering, combining Fetch's mobile expertise with iProspect's broader performance marketing services to drive more integrated and tangible results for clients. The combined entity serves major brands like eBay, Hotels.com, and Sony Music.
