StartADAM was a software company that developed a platform to unify disparate communication and project management tools into a single, chat-centric interface. Founded in 2021 by CEO Adam Stone and CTO Dr. Marcos Barretto, the company was headquartered in Los Angeles with a global team. Stone, a second-time entrepreneur, previously founded the freelancing marketplace SpeedLancer after gaining experience with platforms like Upwork and Fiverr. The idea for StartADAM emerged from the need to build numerous integrations for SpeedLancer, leading to the decision to create a standalone SaaS product to help other companies facing similar challenges.
The company's core product functioned as an AI-powered assistant that created cross-platform communication groups, enabling seamless conversation and collaboration between users on different applications such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, WhatsApp, Telegram, and Discord. It also integrated with project management tools like Trello and Jira, allowing for task management directly within the chat interface. The platform was designed to automate processes like follow-ups and team updates, aiming to centralize client interactions and enhance operational efficiency for software teams, service providers, and enterprises. In March 2023, StartADAM announced a capital raise of $1.9 million, a round led by the Los Angeles-based venture capital fund Watertower Ventures.
On June 3, 2025, it was announced that StartADAM had been acquired by LeapXpert, a leader in responsible business communication. As part of the acquisition, the entire StartADAM team, intellectual property, and product were absorbed by LeapXpert. The acquisition was intended to enhance The LeapXpert Communications Platform by integrating StartADAM's AI technology, expanding supported messaging channels to include Slack and Discord, and adding native two-way synchronization with CRMs like Salesforce, HubSpot, and Microsoft Dynamics.
