SPVIE Assurances is a multi-dimensional insurance brokerage group established in 2010 by co-founders Jérémy Sebag and Cédric Pironneau. Both founders brought significant experience from the insurance world to their venture. Sebag, a graduate of the École Supérieure d'Assurance, had held roles at Ciprès Vie and Gras Savoye. Pironneau, after more than a decade in business development for software companies, transitioned to insurance, working for Gras Savoye and later Malakoff Médéric in key account management. Their shared vision was to create a next-generation insurance company, addressing the evolving needs of the wholesale brokerage market.
The company operates primarily as a wholesale broker, designing and distributing insurance products through a network of partner brokers. It serves a diverse client base that includes individuals, businesses, professionals, and expatriates. The business model involves managing the entire value chain, from product design and distribution to affiliation and claims management, all through a fully dematerialized and automated process. The product portfolio is extensive, covering health, life and disability (prévoyance), savings and retirement, property and casualty (IARD), and specialized construction and real estate insurance. In 2023, the firm reported revenues of €105 million.
A key component of SPVIE's strategy is its proprietary technology. In 2014, the company integrated its own digital development teams, allowing it to digitize its entire operational workflow. This led to the creation of its IT subsidiary, Assurware, and the development of digital tools like the BIG BROKER platform, a B2B marketplace for its broker network. This technological focus allows for centralized services and continuous product evolution. The firm's growth trajectory has been marked by significant milestones, including entering the top 20 French wholesale brokers by 2015 and reaching the 4th position by 2020. This expansion was fueled by organic growth and strategic acquisitions, such as CGRM, a health insurance management specialist, and Assurances de l'Adour, a distance-selling expert, which were facilitated by a €70 million fundraising round in 2020.
